Am Montag, 14. November 2011, feierte die Johannes Paul II Stiftung Indonesien das 30. Jubiläum der weltweiten Johannes Paul II Stiftung. Die Eucharistische Feier, der ein Empfang folgte, fand in Jakarta statt und wurde von Monsignor Petrus Turang (Erzbischof von Kupang) zelebriert mit Monsignor Petrus Canisius Mandagi MSC (Bischof von Amboina), Monsignor Josef Suwatan MSC (Bischof von Manado), Monsignor Julio Mencucini CP (Bischof von Sanggau), Monsignor Petrus Timang (Bischof von Banjarmasin), Monsignor Justinus Hardjasusanto MSF (Bischof von Tanjung Selor), Pater Terry Ponomban und Pater Johanes Mangkey MSC als Konzelebranten. Über 100 Freunde der Stiftung und Aufsichtsratsmitglieder haben an der Feier teilgenommen.

Unveiling ceremony of the benefactors’ plaque

On behalf of the entire Administrative Council I wish to express our gratitude for your participation and a large presence. Thank you that, that despite any discomfort of sometimes long trips, you came here to celebrate with us in Rome.

1. How piercingly sounds today’s Gospel readings in the Basilica bearing the name of Peter, the Apostle. Here, in the Basilica’s grottos, lies a man, on whom Christ built his church.  We still remember the scene from the Caesarea Philippi.  For the Master’s question “Who do you say I am?”, Simon Peter answered: “You are, the Messiah, the Son of the living God” (Mt 16, 15-16). Upon these words, Jesus named the Apostle “Blessed are you” and He added: “You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My Church and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.  I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in Heaven.” (Mt 16, 18-19)  Peter’s faith became the foundation for the community of the disciples of the crucified and resurrected Lord.
