Before the world knew Bl. Pope John Paul II, Fr. Karol Wojtyla wrote a work entitled Love and Responsibility. The text presents a unique philosophical introduction to the individual, relationships, the nature of sexuality and holy matrimony. It is the very substance of these topics that our modern world seeks to rewrite. However as we stand against the unjust HHS mandate and other attempts to further redefine sexuality and human relations, we must also remember to nurture our own relationships. In fact, the best defense of a natural relationship may be the observable charity and maturity within our own.

The prophetic young Wojtyla was inspired to write the book after spending time with a group of students that had coalesced during his time teaching at Lublin University. The group originally centered on discussing the common relational trials of youths and would spend their time serving the downtrodden.

Wpływy z balu zostaną przekazane na Fundację Jana Pawła II w Rzymie, której działalność charytatywna rozpoczęła się w 1981 roku. Jej celem jest zapewnienie stypendium studentom pochodzącym z krajów Europy Wschodniej.

The annual meeting of the Administrative Council of the John Paul II Foundation took place on the 26^th and 27^th January, 2012. Present were all the members of the Council. The traditional meeting began at the grave of the Blessed  John Paul II. The Main Celebrant of the concelebrated Mass was Card. Stanislaw Dziwisz. Following is the full text of his homily.

Este 24 de enero se hizo público el Mensaje del Papa para la 46ª Jornada Mundial de las Comunicaciones Sociales, que Benedicto firmó hoy en la Fiesta de San Francisco de Sales, Doctor de la Iglesia y obispo de Ginebra, considerado uno de los grandes maestros de la espiritualidad de los últimos siglos, patrono de los periodistas y escritores católicos. Queridos hermanos y hermanas

Al acercarse la Jornada Mundial de las Comunicaciones sociales de 2012, deseo compartir con vosotros algunas reflexiones sobre un aspecto del proceso humano de la comunicación que, siendo muy importante, a veces se olvida y hoy es particularmente necesario recordar. Se trata de la relación entre el silencio y la palabra: dos momentos de la comunicación que deben equilibrarse, alternarse e integrarse para obtener un auténtico diálogo y una profunda cercanía entre las personas. Cuando palabra y silencio se excluyen mutuamente, la comunicación se deteriora, ya sea porque provoca un cierto aturdimiento o porque, por el contrario, crea un clima de frialdad; sin embargo, cuando se integran recíprocamente, la comunicación adquiere valor y significado.
