On the occasion of the second anniversary of the Polish Pope’s beatification, Fr. dr Krzysztof Wieliczko OSPPE, the Administrator of the John Paul II Foundation, came from Rome to our Mission. On May 3^rd, 2013, Feast of Mary, Queen of Poland, Fr. Wieliczko celebrated a Mass at the St. Barbara Church, while on Sunday May 5^th, he celebrated a Mass at the St. Joseph Church and in the afternoon he participated in the parish feast in Neuperlach.

On Sunday, April 21, 2013, at the parish of Our Lady of the Bright Mount in Los Angeles a festive banquet of the John Paul II Foundation Los Angeles Chapter was held.  At the banquet, 195 guests were participating.  The celebrations began with a Mass celebrated by the Father Krzysztof Wieliczko who came for this occasion from Rome.  After the Mass there was a special blessing and an adoration of the relics of Blessed John Paul II.

Roughly 80,000 pilgrims flocked to St. Peter's Square, as the Pope celebrated his first canonization ceremony. Two Latin American nuns and roughly 800 Italian martyrs were declared saints.  
  
Mother Laura Montoya is the first Colombian saint and Mother Lupita is the second Mexican female to be canonized. The 800 Italian laymen, known as the 'martyrs of Otranto,' were killed by Ottoman soldiers back in the 15th century, after refusing the convert to Islam. 

On May 5^th, 2013 at the St. Stanislaus Church in Rome, the main focus of the meeting was  “The Church Knows Herself Better and Better”. It was our meeting in correlation with the series “The Second Vatican Council as the Compass for the New Evangelization”. The series is being coordinated by John Paul II Pontificate Center for Research & Documentation along with the Pastoral Staff at St. Stanislaus Church in the Eternal City.

Prof. Z. Zdzisława Kijasa OFM Conv and Rev. Andrzej Dobrzyński, they delivered lectures supporting the teachings of the Second Vatican Council. The meeting took place in order to express the significances of the Dogmatic Constitution on the Church “Lumen Gentium”.
